KL - Happening!

Kuala Lumpur, or better known as KL is the capital city of Malaysia. Being the capital city of one’s country, it has lots of attractions for you to explore.


The first sight that attracts most of the visitors’ sight will be the tall building that standing high in the heart of KL, the Petronas Tower. Petronas Tower has been one of the tallest buildings in the world. Visitors can get a nice view of the city of KL by visiting this tower. Beside this, the KL tower is also the tallest building in the Southeast Asia. On the highest floor of this tower, there is a revolving restaurant and an observation platform where one can enjoy the nice cuisine while admiring the bird-eye view of KL.


In the busy city of KL, there are quite a few of parks available. So in order to get closer to the nature, you can visit to the parks in KL without traveling far away from the KL city. To visit all the famous parks you should go to Lake Gardens. In the Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik Perdana), there are a few notable gardens as below:


  • KL Bird Park – the largest bird park in the South East Asia. Thousands of different species of birds can be found here. Opening hours are from 9am – 6pm daily ( except for public holidays)
  • The Deer Park – Having the mousedeers here, the world smallest hoofed animal. Opening hours from 9am – 5pm daily. Admission fees: RM 1
  • The Butterfly Park – This is a breeding area for butterflies. Having more than 120 species of butterflies and 100 species of plants. Opening hours 9am-5pm on weekdays only. Admission fees: RM 4 for adult and RM2 for child
  • The Orchid Park – Lots of species of Orchids can be found here. Opening hours are from 10am – 6pm daily
  • Malaysian National Monument – one of the world’s largest freestanding bronze sculptures. This monument is to remember those who died in Malaysia’s struggle against Communist insurgency in the 1950s

Besides, FRIM (Forest Research Institution of Malaysia) in Kepong, is an attraction for nature lovers. Canopy walk is one of the famous one here. Other activities like jogging, picnicking and family outings can be done here.

For a peek at animals, you can visit to Zoo Negara. Here you can find the animals that are native to this country. There are more than 4000 animals from 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Zoo Negara by Day is open daily from 9am – 5pm. Zoo Negara by Night is open on Saturday, Sunday and Malaysian Public Holidays from 9am – 10.30pm. Admission fees for adult are RM 12, children RM6, senior citizen RM 6 and free entry if it’s your birthday.


For shopaholics, KL is the shopping paradise. There are quite a few shopping centers in the KL city. All the shopping centers around KL offer great shopping under one roof and provide upmarket styles and a wide selection of world-renowned designer labels. Shopping centers available: KLCC, Sungei Wang, Lot 10, Berjaya Times Square, BB Plaza and Star Hill. In KLCC, besides shopping you can visit the PETROSAINS. It is an interactive Science Discovery Centre that presents a story of science and technology of the petroleum industry in a fun way. KLCC Aquaria is one of the new attractions in KLCC. AQUARIA at KLCC is designed to be the next generation aquarium that showcases exceptional education and entertainment elements.


Petaling Street also well-known as “Chinatown” has various stalls from what you wear to what you can eat here. It is a nice place to stroll around as you may get some bargain goods. If you feel tired, you can get some refreshments and snacks stalls along the street.


Central Market is a nice spot for you to get a closer look at the Malaysia’s folk art scene. One can buy the souvenirs and handicrafts here. Occasionally, there are many performances, demonstrations, and activities offered here, including batik painting, fortune telling, shadow puppet plays, glass blowing, dance classes, art classes, and many others. Central Market opens daily from 10 am – 10pm.


Another latest attraction that you must visit is the Eye on Malaysia. It is the tallest portable observation wheel in Southeast Asia. The 60-metre structure is located at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This giant ferris wheel allows visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12-minute ride that goes 60 metres high. The 12-minute ride will cost RM15 for adults and RM8 for children and concessionaires. Eye on Malaysia opens from 10am to 10pm daily. Visit to KL and you will get all the excitements here.
